The Heart of a Defiled Land
The Ringing Mountains
Vast range of massive peaks to the west of Tyr. Few have crossed these mountains.
A relatively verdant valley, home to Tyr. At the base of the Ringing Mountains and west of the Great Alluvial Sand Wastes.
Great Alluvial Sand Wastes
Deadly desert between the Ringing Mountains and the Tablelands. To get to Tyr, you must cross the Great Alluvial Sand Wastes.
Mountain range just to the west of Skalin’s Rib.
Where the Trade Road crosses the Sharpshard Mountains between Tyr and Skalin’s Rib. It’s a relatively gentle pass, rising slowly to 2,500 feet. The town of Skalin’s Rib keeps a garrison of guards at the top to serve as a guard and warning in case of raiders crossing from the Great Alluvial Sand Wastes.
The town is named after a massive stone column – more than 1,000 feet tall and 300 feet thick at the base – that used to be an arch extending from the ground to the face of Mount Goh. Massive rubble blocks now litter the area beneath the former arch.
The tallest mountain in the Sharpshards at about 12,000 feet, Mount Goh dominates the scenery. On its eastern face is a sheer, 3,000-foot cliff. When Skalin’s Rib was still an intact stone arch, it connected to this cliff. Now there is just a stub of rock emerging from the cliff face about 1,500 feet up.
